Inactive Cell Strings
In parallel to a certain number of solar cells, bypass diodes are integrated into the PV module. These bypass diodes reduce the power loss caused by partial shading in the PV module. When individual cell strings are short-circuited or open-circuited due to malfunctions, the nominal power loss at the module level varies from 33% to 100% depending on the amount of affected strings.
